EU offers concessions to Iran to revive JCPOA - report

The European Union has extended Iran a proposal, offering it new concessions in order for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to be revived, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Thursday, citing a draft of the document it has seen.

According to the publication, the EU told Tehran other signatories of the JCPOA will instruct the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to close the investigation into Iran's nuclear activities. Iran, on its part, has to cooperate with the IAEA's team. Once the probe is concluded, the negotiations about the Iran Nuclear Deal can continue.

Earlier this month, Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian urged the United States to provide his country with a valid response about the continuation of the JCPOA talks.
