China-Russia trade rose by 29% since January - ambassador

Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui said on Friday the trade between Moscow and Beijing rose by 29% in the period from January to July of fiscal 2022, reaching $97.71 billion, according to China's data.

Compared to the corresponding time span the year before, the imports of Chinese goods to Russia climbed up by 5.2%, totaling $36.26 billion annually. Meanwhile, deliveries from Russia to China improved by 48.8%, amounting to $61.44 billion during the same period.

The Chinese ambassador to Russia told RIA Novosti that the Russian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation are showing "excellent results" and "sustainable development" despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic and the economic slump. The energy giant Gazprom of Russia recently reported a significant rise in gas exports to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline of 63.4% in the first half of 2022.
