China's Xi plans to meet Biden in November - report

Chinese President Xi Jinping could meet with his American counterpart Joe Biden in November during his trip to Southeast Asia, the first international visit since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal, officials familiar with the plans said that the Chinese leader is considering attending a G20 summit in Bali scheduled for November 15 following the Communist Party congress where he is expected to claim his third term. Xi and Biden could potentially meet between the G20 summit and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation event that comes shortly after, the report added.

"China supports Indonesia and Thailand as the hosts of the two conferences, and is willing to work with all parties to promote the conference to achieve positive results," China's Foreign Ministry was cited as saying by the newspaper. On the other hand, the White House didn't comment on the matter.
