Nuclear talks progress isn't 'fully meeting' expectations - Iran

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani stated on Monday during a regular press briefing that the progress on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) talks does not "fully meet" the country's expectations.

Nevertheless, although Kanaani noted that the latest round of talks in Vienna was "intensive and sensitive... significant progress was made," adding that "ground is prepared for an agreement, provided Iran's red lines are met and Tehran's economic interests are secured."

The spokesperson shared that the consultations over the European Union's draft "are ongoing" and that Tehran plans to advance. Kanaani underlined that "direct and indirect talks to remove the oppressive sanctions imposed on Iran" are still underway.
