Trump Org. former CFO near deal with prosecutors - report

Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer at the Trump Organization, is close to making a deal with prosecutors in Manhattan, the New York Times reported. However, while one of Donald Trump's "most trusted lieutenants" would be labeled a felon as a result of the deal, he will not "cooperate with a broader investigation" into the former president's business practices, sources said.

It is currently unknown what concessions Weisselberg made in a bid to get his sentence reduced to five months in jail, according to the report. In 2021, the Trump Organization and Weisselberg himself were charged with grand larceny and a 15-year-long tax scheme to receive undeclared perks. The company is not expected to enter the same deal, the report claimed.
