Big JCPOA issues largely settled - US

United States Department of State spokesman Ned Price said on Tuesday that Washington believes that the "big issues" concerning the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known colloquially as the Iran nuclear deal, have been "largely settled."

Those issues are the steps Iran needed to take to limit its nuclear program and the subsequent "sanctions relief" by the US, he told reporters at a briefing. The negotiations have gone on for longer than they needed to, Price stressed.

The US has received the Iranian response to the European Union's proposal to finalize the agreement and is in consultations with Brussels "on the way ahead," the American official confirmed.
