Zelensky: Erdogan's visit to Lviv 'powerful message'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky referred to the visit of his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the country's western city of Lviv as a "powerful message of support from such a powerful country" on his Telegram Channel on Thursday.

Following the forty-minute-long meeting with the Turkish president, Zelensky revealed that they discussed the prospect of improving the grain initiative and "Russia's large-scale theft of grain in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine." In addition, the two leaders also touched upon the situation around Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and discussed the bolstering of defense cooperation between the two countries.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also joined the meeting and is expected to arrive at Ukraine's southern city of Odessa on Friday, where he will visit one of the three ports participating in the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Following the visit to Ukraine, Guterres will travel to the Joint Coordinating Center in Istanbul.
