Wall Street opens lower ahead of manufacturing data
Major stocks on Wall Street opened the trading session on Thursday below the flatline, as investors awaited data on the country's manufacturing activity, as well as the report on construction spending set for release after the markets open.
The negative trend was likely prompted by the fall of Nvidia Corporation's shares in the premarket trade, followed by Advanced Micro Devices Inc.'s plummet. After the closing bell, the country's semiconductor company, Broadcom Inc. will reveal its quarterly earnings report.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 0.38%, with the Boeing Company losing 2.51%. The Nasdaq 100 fell by 0.78% with Okta Inc. sinking 30.04%. The S&P 500 decreased by 0.49% as Nvidia Corporation plunged by 6.80%.
