PM Liz Truss announces new UK government picks

Former British business secretary Kwasi Kwarteng has become the country's new Chancellor of the Exchequer, Prime Minister Liz Truss (pictured) announced on Tuesday.

While Kwarteng will lead the United Kingdom's public finances in the future as analysts predicted, Truss' cabinet reshuffle has produced more changes in Downing Street. Dominic Raab announced his resignation from his posts as British deputy prime minister and justice secretary and was replaced by Brandon Lewis, while Ben Wallace remained defense secretary.

Among other picks, James Cleverly was chosen as the new foreign secretary and Suella Braverman as interior secretary. In addition, Wendy Morton was appointed parliamentary secretary to the Treasury (Chief Whip) and Therese Coffey was named health secretary and deputy prime minister. Penny Mordaunt was appointed leader of the House of Commons.
