Europe opens lower after Putin's mobilization announcement
Markets in Europe opened in the red on Wednesday as investors awaited the United States Federal Reserve's decision and digested Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement on "partial mobilization" in the country.
The FTSE 100 declined 0.23% at 9:00 am CET. The worst performer was Persimmon, whose shares decreased by 2.28%.
The DAX dropped 1.04% at 9:03 am CET as Infineon, down 2.62%, led the losses.
The CAC 40 slid 0.86% at 9:00 am CET with Schneider Electric and Veolia both losing 1.53%.
The euro fell 0.70% against the dollar to go for 0.99016 at 9:01 am CET and the pound was down 0.39% compared to the greenback, selling for 1.13368 at 9:02 am CET.
