Nord Stream: Pipeline gas leaks 'unprecedented'

Nord Stream AG told reporters on Tuesday that the leaks "that occurred on the same day simultaneously on three strings of the offshore gas pipelines of the Nord Stream system" in the Baltic Sea are "unprecedented."

"It is not yet possible to estimate the timing of the restoration of the gas transmission infrastructure," the company underlined.

Due to the leaks, the Danish Ministry of Emergency decided to put its energy sector on alert, even though the incident had no "significance for the supply of gas to Europe and Denmark."
