Sweden, Denmark saw who approached Nord Stream - Kremlin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that it was highly likely that somebody would accuse Russia of causing damage to the Nord Stream pipeline, however, he called such claims predictably stupid, calling at the same time the international community to first think about who would make profit from the pipeline's sabotage.

The situation requires a dialogue that, according to the spokesman, is lacking at the moment and Moscow will insist that Gazprom's representatives take place in the investigation of the latest gas leak, he said. In addition, the Kremlin emphasized that the monitoring teams from Sweeden and Denmark must have seen who approached the pipeline, as it could not have happened otherwise.

Furthermore, Peskov noted that the Kremlin saw the US is profiting from the fact its companies are supplying Europe with gas after the Nord Stream pipeline's halt earlier this month.
