Ukraine to apply for fast-track NATO entry - Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Friday, following Russia's latest move to formally sign treaties on the accession of Ukrainian territory to Russia, that Kiev will be officialy applying to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by fast track.
In a video message, addressing the nation, Zelensky shared that "today, Ukraine is applying to make it de jure… We are taking our decisive step by signing Ukraine's application for accelerated accession to NATO."
Zelensky stressed that Kiev has already proven "de facto" its compatibility with the Alliance's standards. The head of Ukraine further commented that his country refuses to hold talks with Moscow as long as Russian President Vladimir Putin is the leader.
