US construction spending slips by 0.7% in August
Construction spending in the United States recorded $1,781.3 billion in August, down by 0.7% compared to the previous month's revised figure, the US Census Bureau revealed in a report on Monday. On an annual basis, the figure was up by 8.5%.
During the first eight months of the fiscal year 2022, construction spending amounted to $1,183.8 billion, rising 10.9% compared to the same period the year before.
Private construction spending decreased by 0.6% month on month in August, recording $1,426 billion, while public construction spending was $355.3 billion, 0.8% lower on a monthly basis.
