WH: Biden, Kishida condemn NK's missile test

United States President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had a conversation in which they jointly condemned "in the strongest terms" North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile conducted earlier in the day, the White House said in a press release on Tuesday.

The statement stressed that Biden and Kishida recognized the event as a "danger to the Japanese people, destabilizing to the region, and a clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions." "They confirmed they would continue to closely coordinate their immediate and longer-term response bilaterally, trilaterally with the Republic of Korea, and with the international community," it added.

The conversation came after North Korea tested a ballistic missile that managed to fly all over Japan and hit a mark in the Pacific Ocean. In response, the US and Japan held a joint military exercise.
