10-year Treasury yield rises to highest level since 2008
US Treasury notes moved higher Wednesday as the US 10-year Treasury yield hit 4.098%, its highest level since 2008. The move comes ahead of the publication of fresh data on housing in the country.
Besides, concerns about a possible recession have been mounting among investors, analysts, and market participants as the Federal Reserve will likely continue on its hawkish path with interest rate hikes in order to tackle inflation.
At 7:19 am ET, the return on the 10-year Treasury note added ten basis points to 4.098%. Meanwhile, the yield on the two-year note was up five basis points to 4.501% a minute later. The return on the 30-year bond rose by five basis points to 4.077% at 7:25 am ET.
