Walt Disney, F1 extend ESPN broadcast deal until 2025

The Walt Disney Company and Formula One announced on Saturday they have reached a deal to prolong their ESPN broadcast partnership in the United States until the end of the 2025 season. The details of the latest three-year agreement are yet to be unveiled, however, it was confirmed that ESPN and ABC would broadcast a record number of races in the upcoming season while Sky Sports will provide coverage.

Since ESPN acquired broadcasting rights four years ago, the number of viewers went up by the year to reach an average of 1.2 million viewers per race in the US this season, Formula One said. The 2023 season will have record 24 races, as Las Vegas Grand Prix was added as the third US race. "We are delighted to announce that our partnership with ESPN will continue," Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali noted.
