Caterpillar's Q3 sales up by 21% to $15 billion
Caterpillar Inc. revealed on Thursday that its sales and revenue in the third quarter of 2022 saw an annual growth of 21% to reach $15 billion. The company's profit came in at $2.04 billion, which is an increase of 43.13% compared to the same trimester the previous year. Its operating profit rose by 45.73% year-on-year to hit $2.42 billion. Meanwhile, its diluted earnings per share (EPS) went up by 48.85% on an annual basis to stand at $3.87 per share.
"Our team remains focused on serving our customers as we continued to see healthy demand across most of our end markets during the third quarter," the enterprise's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jim Umpleby commented on the results.
Following the release of the report, Caterpillar's shares advanced by 3.40% in premarket trading.
