German inflation up to 10.4% in October
Consumer prices in Germany increased by 10.4% in October compared to the corresponding month the year prior, according to a preliminary report released by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on Friday. The annual inflation rate stood at 10% in September.
In October 2022, energy and food prices were up 43% and 20.3%, respectively, from the same month in 2021 as overall goods prices jumped 17.8%. Prices of services were 4% higher year on year, while rents have gone up 1.8%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.9% in October 2022.
