Turkey to secure Russian gas transport to Europe

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, speaking at an event in Ankara, that his country will try to ensure the supply of Russian natural gas to the European market through TurkStream.

"At a time when wars, conflicts, and tensions are increasing all around us, we are the only country that makes sincere efforts for peace by establishing an equal, moral, and fair relationship with all parties," Erdogan stressed. Ankara and Moscow are gearing up to work on a joint venture and build a natural gas hub, in the region of Thrace.

In relation to explorations of natural gas, Erdogan commented that Turkey has "discovered a total of 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in the Black Sea," and will "hopefully share the joy of new good news in energy with our nation soon."
