United Airlines suspends Twitter ads
United Airlines became the latest company to suspend advertising on Twitter following Elon Musk's takeover of the social media platform, a spokesperson for the airline confirmed.
Earlier, General Motors, Pfizer, Audi, Volkswagen and several other firms halted advertising on Twitter while they see how Musk will deal with content moderation. Musk blamed activist groups for pushing advertisers away from Twitter.
Before the transaction was finalized, Musk stressed that "Twitter aspires to be the most respected advertising platform in the world" but insisted that most advertising on the platform until now "has been wrong" as "low relevancy ads are spam."
