Macron: US inflation act not in line with WTO rules
French President Emmanuel Macron underscored on Tuesday that Washington's Inflation Reduction Act does not comply with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules, stressing that the bill is not "friendly."
"The United States produces cheap gas that they sell to us at a high price, and on top of that, they have taken massive state aid measures in certain sectors that are completely outside our market projects," the French president said at the Decarbonization of the Industry conference in Paris.
"We need a European awakening on this point," Macron stressed. Previously, French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire underscored that the US inflation bill is not acceptable to the European Union.
