GOP leads House race with 199 secured seats

The Republicans are leading the race for the House of Representatives after securing 199 seats, according to projections by the Associated Press.

With 68 seats yet to be decided, the GOP needs to secure wins in at least 19 more districts in order to secure 218 seats necessary to regain control of the House.

Earlier, United States House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who was reelected, expressed confidence that the GOP will have the majority in the lower chamber of Congress following the midterms, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated the Democrats have performed better than expected.
