Beijing confirms EU's Michel will visit China this week
The Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed on Monday that European Council President Charles Michel will visit the country on Thursday.
The ministry's spokesperson Hua Chunying noted Michel will visit the country at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Last week, media reported the EU official will meet Xi and several other Chinese officials during his visit to the Asian country and stressed he intends to signal the EU's willingness to "keep lines of communication open to China."
