Germany, Qatar close 15-year LNG supply deal
Germany and Qatar agreed on Tuesday to a 15-year deal that would see the Middle Eastern nation supply Germany with up to 2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year. Qatar's Energy Minister Saad Al-Kaabi announced that the agreement will come into force in 2026.
Al-Kaabi added that the LNG will be delivered by the United States company ConocoPhillips. "Germany represents the largest gas market in Europe... and we are committed to supporting its energy security," he stated.
