US lower premarket after Powell's remarks

Major stock indexes in the United States traded lower in the premarket on Thursday following a big upswing in Wednesday's session. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell indicated the pace of interest rate hikes could soften from December, reassuring the Fed has no intention of "crashing" the US economy. Investors will also monitor the upcoming data reports, including those on jobless claims and manufacturing activity.

The Dow Jones lost 0.26% at 4:30 am ET, as the Nasdaq fell by 0.27% and the S&P dropped 0.19% at the same time.

The euro traded 0.31% higher compared to the dollar, going for 1.04395 at 4:30 am ET.
