Kremlin dismisses EU's plan for war crime court

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that any attempt to form a court for Russian war crimes "will not have any legitimacy" and will be "condemned" by Moscow. On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the European Union will work with the United Nations on establishing a tribunal to investigate and prosecute war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine.

Peskov however stated that Russian investigators are "doing very hard, painstaking work" recording Ukrainian war crimes. He commented that the Kremlin has not seen a "critical reaction" from the West concerning Kiev's crimes, which he alleged started in 2014.
