Amgen close to buying Horizon, worth over $20B - report

Amgen Inc. is likely to acquire Horizon Therapeutics Plc, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. Horizon is worth around $22 billion and could bring $4 billion in revenue to Amgen by 2024, according to the report.

People familiar with the negotiations claimed a deal could be announced on Monday after rival bidder Sanofi SA announced on Friday that it is dropping out of the race. Johnson & Johnson was also interested in Horizon before deciding against pursuing the takeover.
