YouTube to reportedly pay $2B for NFL broadcasts

Alphabet Inc. and Google LLC's YouTube LLC will pay $2 billion a year to broadcast NFL Sunday Ticket, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing unnamed insiders with knowledge of the agreement.

The contract's per-year price could increase if certain thresholds are met, according to the report.

Youtube, which has two billion monthly users, reportedly competed for the seven-year contract against Amazon.com Inc. and The Walt Disney Co.'s ESPN.
