UK: Makiivka attack exposes Russian army's lack of professionalism
The recent Ukrainian attack on a center in Makiivka, near Donetsk, and the blasts that followed, indicate the lack of professionalism of the Russian army, the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence said Wednesday in its latest Intelligence report.
The extent of the attack and the number of victims was likely caused by the fact that the ammunition targeted "was being stored near to troop accommodation." The attack left 89 casualties, and the structure was completely destroyed.
"The Russian military has a record of unsafe ammunition storage from well before the current war, but this incident highlights how unprofessional practices contribute to Russia's high casualty rate," concluded the report.
