Asian markets mostly higher after reports from China

Major Asian stock markets traded mostly higher in the afternoon on Friday following the latest report on China's trade surplus which beat expectations by increasing to $78 billion. Traders also analyze the reports that the country's government bought "golden shares" in Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and is planning to acquire stakes at Tencent Holdings Ltd.

The Shanghai Composite added 0.60% at 7:21 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite improved by 0.64%, and the Hang Seng rose 0.43% a minute later.

The Kospi Composite added 0.98% at 7:20 am CET, while the Australian S&P/ASX 200 was up 0.66% at the closing bell.

The Nikkei 225 closed 1.25% down.

The dollar traded 0.18% lower against the yen and went for 128.9660 at 7:23 am CET.
