Boeing 737 Max 8 takes off in China for first time since 2019
A Boeing 737 Max 8 plane took off in China for the first time since the government grounded them in 2019, data from Flightradar24 showed Friday.
The Boeing 737 Max 8 is operated by China Southern Airlines and traveled from Guangzhou to Zhengzhou. The flight comes after that country lifted its strict zero-COVID-19 policy.
In March 2019, China decided to ground all the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, citing the need for strict control of safety risks. The move followed two 737 Max 8 crashes in Ethiopia in 2019 and Indonesia in 2018.
