Ukraine's wheat exports fell by 45% to 9M tons until January

Ukraine's wheat exports fell by 45% to 9 million tons since the beginning of the current marketing year, Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) reported on Tuesday. The marketing year in Ukraine started in July 2022 and will end in June 2023.

The report stated that the partial occupation of the Ukrainian territory slowed down the production of the product. In addition, the temporary blockade of seaports by Russian troops and the inadequate functioning of the grain corridor also affected the output.

"Ukraine still has wheat export potential; there is a surplus from the last season. There are sufficient stocks for domestic consumption, which is around 7 million tons. However, the price remains low on the Ukrainian market, which significantly complicates further activity of Ukrainian farmers," a representative of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) said, commenting on the data.
