Walmart to raise average hourly wage to over $17.5
Walmart Inc. revealed on Tuesday its plans to introduce measures that are expected to result in the average hourly wages of its workers in the United States reaching over $17.50.
The new moves include "a mixture of associates' [employees'] regular annual increases and targeted investments in starting rates for thousands of stores," John Furner, the president and CEO of Walmart US associates wrote in a notice posted on the company website.
The pay increases will be "reflected in March 2 paychecks," Furner specified.
