EU backs US in choking China's chips industry
European Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton confirmed that the European Union will back the United States in depriving China of semiconductor chips.
Speaking at an event in Washington, Breton said that the EU entirely agrees "with the objective of depriving China of the most advanced chips. We cannot allow China to access the most advanced technologies."
Breton's remarks came out after reports claimed earlier today the Biden administration has reached agreements with the Netherlands and Japan to ban chip exports to China, escalating global trade tensions.
