US won't grant more licenses to export technology to Huawei
The US Commerce Department told some companies that it will no longer grant licenses to export US technology to Huawei, the Financial Times reported Monday, citing several people familiar with the discussion.
In this way, the administration is moving forward in the legal battle with the tech company, which security officials think helps China while engaging in espionage. At the moment, not Huawei nor the Commerce Department has commented on the report.
The move comes at a time the US is trying to intensify efforts along with allies to curb China's development of cutting-edge technology, such as semiconductors used in artificial intelligence and hypersonic weapons.
