Asian markets trade lower after data from China, Japan
Major stock exchanges in Asia-Pacific traded lower during Tuesday's session with reports on Japanese consumer confidence improving in January and China's manufacturing PMI showing overall growth for the previous month.
Japan's Nikkei 225 declined by 0.39% at the closing bell. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.07%, while South Korea's Kospi Composite decreased by 1.04% at the end of their sessions.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng went down by 1.68% at 8:07 am CET, while in mainland China, the Shanghai Composite lost by 0.42% at 7:53 am CET, and the Shenzhen Composite decreased by 0.40%.
The dollar was down 0.18% against the yen, going for 130.2295 at 7:59 am CET.
