Gold, silver tumble as Fed decision looms

The prices of gold and silver slid on Tuesday ahead of the Federal Reserve's latest decision on its monetary policy, which will be announced on Wednesday.

The central bank is expected to continue with interest rate hikes, which seemingly curbed the appetite for the non-interest-bearing metals.

Gold fell 0.85% to go for $1,905.64 per ounce at 4:37 am ET. Silver dropped 1.92%, selling at $23.12 per ounce at the same time. Platinum lost 1.32% to sell for $999.46 per ounce at 4:38 am ET. Palladium declined 0.98% to $1,597.49 per ounce simultaneously.
