Stoltenberg: China spreading disinformation on NATO

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Tuesday, during a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, that China has been spreading disinformation about the alliance and war in Ukraine.

Furthermore, Stoltenberg expressed concerns over Beijing's "substantial" military force buildup, including "nuclear weapons." He continued by saying that the country is "bullying its neighbors and threatening Taiwan."

Although he stressed that China "is not our adversary," the alliance agrees with Japan's stance that the former's behavior is "a matter of serious concern." Stoltenberg stated that the scale of the challenge must be understood, adding that NATO and Japan should "work together to address it."
