ExxonMobil's EPS in Q4 surges 48% to $3.09

Exxon Mobil Corp. stated on Tuesday that its earnings per share in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022 surged 48% in comparison to the previous year, reaching $3.09. Meanwhile, revenue in the reported period stood at $12.7 billion, jumping 44% year on year. For the whole year, revenue skyrocketed from $23 billion in 2021 to $55.7 billion in 2022. Full-year 2022 earnings per share amounted to $13.26, up 146% from the same timeframe in 2021.

"While our results clearly benefited from a favorable market, the counter-cyclical investments we made before and during the pandemic provided the energy and products people needed as economies began recovering and supplies became tight. Our plan for 2023 calls for further progress on our strategic objectives, which include leading the industry in safety, operating, and financial performance," CEO Darren Woods commented.

The company's shares slid 2.91% in premarket after the report was released.
