Pfizer sees record $100.3 billion revenue in 2022
American pharma giant Pfizer Inc. revealed on Tuesday its fourth-quarter earnings results, reporting a record annual revenue of $100.3 billion for the past year led by a 30% operational growth. Full-year diluted earnings per share soared 42% to $5.47, resulting in a net income of $31.37 billion.
In the last trimester of 2022, Pfizer said its revenue rose slightly to $24.3 billion, while diluted earnings per share amounted to $0.87 or a net income of $5 billion. Commenting on the 2023 outlook, the company said it expects revenue of up to $71 billion, with diluted earnings per share of up to $3.45.
"As we turn to 2023, we expect to once again set records, with potentially the largest number of new product and indication launches that we’ve ever had in such a short period of time," CEO Albert Bourla noted. Pfizer's stock plunged over 3% in premarket trade on less-than-expected revenue.
