US, S. Korea complete combined air drills
South Korean Defense Ministry declared that Seoul successfully staged combined air drills with the United States forces on Wednesday.
The military exercises involved the US Air Force B-1B strategic bomber and F-22 and F-35B stealth fighters and were conducted over the Yellow Sea, the first of such kind since the beginning of the year. "The combined air drills this time show the US' will and capabilities to provide strong and credible extended deterrence against North Korea's nuclear and missile threat," the ministry said in a statement.
Two days ago, North Korea protested against NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg's visit to South Korea, calling it a "prelude" to war.
