Dow plunges 450 pts amid Powell's comments
Major United States stock markets extended losses in Wednesday's session following Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's remarks on the Fed's latest decision to increase the key interest rate by 25 basis points.
The Dow Jones plunged 1.47% or 450 points, while the Nasdaq 100 went down by 0.30% at 2:33 pm ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 lost 0.55%.
The euro surged 0.80% against the dollar to sell for 1.09549 at 2:42 pm ET.
