Santander's Q4 total income up by 15% to €13.5 billion
Banco Santander, SA announced on Thursday that its total income in the fourth quarter of 2022 came in at €13.5 billion, 15% compared to the same period in 2021. Net operating income expenses stood at €7.2 billion, while attributable profit rose by 1% to €2.2 billion.
For the full year, the bank saw an increase in the total income of 12% to declare €52.1 billion, net operating income of €28.2 billion, and attributable profit of 9.6 billion, 18% more than the previous fiscal year.
"In 2023, we expect central banks and governments will continue to focus on bringing down inflation. Our team has proven experience in navigating these conditions successfully, and we expect revenue growth will continue to offset cost inflation pressures and the anticipated increase in the cost of risk. We also expect to continue growing our tangible net asset value per share and dividend per share," said Ana Botín, Banco Santander executive chair.
