Nasdaq climbs over 3% as Meta, Align Tech. surge
The Nasdaq 100 extended gains on Thursday as Meta Platforms Inc. continued to skyrocket after its fourth-quarter financial results outperformed market expectations.
The social media giant was joined by Align Technology as the top performer after the 3D digital scanners manufacturer's last quarter performance also beat estimates.
The Nasdaq 100 surged 3.28% or 400 points at 12:53 pm ET. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.08%, while S&P 500 gained 1.55% concurrently. The euro traded 0.50% lower against the dollar to sell for 1.09340 a minute later.
