Blinken to reportedly speak to Xi during visit to China
United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken will hold an in-person meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his two-day visit to China that starts on February 5, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing several anonymous sources familiar with the plans.
Blinken could thus become the first US top diplomat to meet Xi in China since Rex Tillerson of the Trump administration in 2017 and the meeting could serve as another signal that the relations between the two superpowers are improving, according to the report.
The American government official will also meet with China's foreign policy leaders Wang Yi and Qin Gang.
