European gas falls 6% on strong supply prospects
Prices of natural gas for future contracts in Europe declined over 6% on Thursday after the news that Texas-based exporter of natural gas Freeport LNG announced the completion of the repair work at its facility, following a months-long outage, seemingly boosting the prospects of firmer supply.
For deliveries in March, UK natural gas futures plunged 6.68% to go for 141.750 pence per therm at 5:27 pm CET. The Dutch TTF natural gas futures dropped 6.58%, selling at €55.60 per megawatt hour.
