Israel, Sudan agree to work on normalization of relations

Israel and Sudan have agreed to work together to normalize their relations, the latter country's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

The announcement came following Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and Sudan's head of state General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan's meeting in Khartoum.

Back in 2020, the two countries agreed to normalize their relations and Sudan joined the Abraham Accords, the deal supervised by former United States President Donald Trump and his administration in an attempt to achieve peace between Israel and the Arab countries. As a result, the US delisted Sudan as a state sponsor of terrorism.
