FAA probes incident at Texas airport

United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating an incident at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas which could have resulted in a collision between a plane operated by FedEx Corp. and a plane operated by Southwest Airlines Co.

The FAA said that the FedEx plane was cleared for landing on the same runway on which the Southwest plane was greenlit to take off. According to the agency, "the pilot of the FedEx airplane discontinued the landing and initiated a climb out," avoiding a possible collision.
