ECB: Inflation expectations for 2023 remain unchanged

Consumer expectations for inflation three years ahead rose from 2.9% to 3%, while expectations for the next 12 months remained unchanged at 9.9% for the third consecutive month, the European Central Bank said in its latest Consumer Expectations Survey on Tuesday.

The survey also revelated that European consumers expect nominal income to increase by one basis point to 1% over the next 12 months, compared to November. Meanwhile, economic growth expectations continued to "increase noticeably," rising from negative 2.0% in November to negative 1.5% in December.

The bank stated that in the case of mortgage interest rates, expectations for 12 months ahead remained steady at 4.8%, while growth in home prices for the next 12 months will continue to be around 3%.
